"Design is subjective" is something we have heard often but that is not the case says Dan Norman. It should clearly communicate with every user without any ambiguity.

The examples that he quotes to build the book are of a faucet and a door. Design issues that should have been fixed but still cause a lot of grief world over. We have all been there where we aren't sure if we should push or pull at a door or turn a faucet clockwise/anti-clockwise or lift it.

Through this book, Dan Norman explains some fundamental principles of design and how a designer should adhere to them to make it easy for the users.
